Eligibility

Investment can be made in projects that meet the following eligibility criteria:

-The investment project must arise from research carried out in one of the Partner Institutes or from collaboration with a Partner Institute
-The investment project must not comprise established companies, i.e. those that are trading
-Where a project comprises an incorporated company, the Partner Institutes should generally hold a majority of shares in that company before investment by Iceni

Description

The scheme provides equity finance to businesses looking to implement development projects. It favours early stage projects.

Notes

In assessing applications for Iceni investment the Investment Executive will consider the following criteria including:

-Does the project represent a real commercial opportunity that is sustainable?
-Is there a real and current need for technology or
-Is there a planned and clear route to developing and taking a product to market?
-Is any Intellectual Property (IP) comprising the technology well protected, and is the ownership status of IP rights clear?

Application Method

The process for applying to the Iceni Seedcorn Fund is simple. It involves submitting an application form to the relevant Iceni Investment Executive.

Prior to submitting an application, the company strongly advises any potential applicants to first arrange for an in - depth consultation with their business development/technology Transfer Office
